Decades of Durability: The Hestra Army Leather Heli Glove Endures the Test of Time

Developed 25 years ago for Canadian mountain guides, the Army Leather Heli has stood up to the test of time. The original Heli model has remained relatively unchanged over the years. Hestra’s emphasis on durability, warmth, and dexterity has made it a go-to glove for guides, professional skiers, and weekend warriors. Often imitated, never duplicated the Heli series provides even the most hardcore skiers and riders with a product they can rely on. High quality materials, a replaceable liner, and leather balm are just some of the features that result in us seeing 10+ year old models still being worn today.

The Army Leather Heli Origin Story

In 1999, a conversation with the president of CMH Heli-Skiing led our owners to create a glove specifically designed for the needs of guides. Using the Philippe Raoux model as a template, our design team added new leather and features, and the Heli Ski series was born. Today, the Heli is celebrating 25 years on the market and is one of the most iconic gloves in the world.

One Pair of Gloves In Numbers

Quality takes time and attention to detail. Every pair of Helis is handmade using 109 parts, 46 manufacturing steps, 18 quality checkpoints with a production time of 1 hour and 27 minutes.
